Is there room for the reader to see, feel, find themselves?
Voice and vibes checklist
Hi! Another note from my ‘voice & vibes checklist’1. Today’s sticky is:
Is there room
for the reader
to see / feel / find
themselves?
(not about me)
It’s cathartic to write for yourself, but you can do that in a private diary of your most dangerous thoughts. Publishing something out in the wild (publish → to make public) demands discernment, I think.
I write first and edit later, asking myself: Am I making space for someone else to find themselves here, not just asking them to look at me?
What do you think?
Love,
Kate
My voice and vibes checklist is an editing tool to double check that my work (especially the words) follow the design I’ve established to help create the experience I wish my customers/clients/audience to have.
